Message from Our Pastor

I am delighted to welcome Jennifer Nunes as our new Coordinator of Outreach and Ministry. Jennifer has shared that she sees St. Mary’s Parish as her second home, which she loves with passion and commitment. She has served St. Mary’s in various ways over the years, notably through her musical gifts and by leading the choir in our liturgies.

When St. Mary’s Hall became available as a warmup shelter in Partnership with the Salvation Army, Jennifer and her family discerned a call to put into action the love of Christ for those who are vulnerable and homeless. This call has blossomed into the position she now holds as the Coordinator of Outreach and Ministry.

Although this is a new position for St. Mary’s Parish, it is rooted in a long tradition of caring for those in need under the pastoral leadership of the Redemptorist Community during their time at St. Mary’s.

In her role, Jennifer will bring a heightened focus to reaching out to those who live in our neighbourhood; especially those who are often the most vulnerable and marginalized. She will coordinate with volunteers and other partners, including parishes, faith communities, and schools, to respond to the corporal and spiritual needs of our brothers and sisters. - Fr.
